Netanyahu attacked Iran under the premise that they must take out their nuclear capabilities because they were “days,” “weeks,” or “months” away from having a nuclear weapon. It's something he has been saying for decades. He knew full well that Israel couldn't take out the underground nuclear facility buried deep inside a mountain at the Fordow without American help. So he would never be able to finish the job without dragging America into his war, which went from destroying Iran's nuclear capabilities to regime change.
Netanyahu will claim whatever it takes to get the US into this conflict with Iran.
